How to Manage Stock?

This section is about how to manage stock using Remarkable Commerce Manager. Covering managing stock, managing variations, variation values and stock requests. This is for where Remarkable Commerce is the product responsible for your stock, if stock is managed in an external database/using feeds continue to make changes as you would, in that case this stock section can be used for quick reference but any changes will be overwritten by an external feed or database.

Stock Relationships

Stock has a 3 tier relationship, at the top leve there is the product, this is referred to the stock in this case, then there is the variation of the product for example a product may vary by size or colour. These are the variations. The actual variation values would be the different sizes or different colours, this is the physical stock that can be updated. So there may be 1 small, 1 medium 1 large, so the stock value would be 3, the variation value would be 1.

Variations are added as a way of categorising the internal stock. There is a possibility to manage this on two levels, stock level and variation level as some products will not have variations, where they are only available in one form.

How to update stock single products/ small updates.

  1. Navigate to Remarkable Commerce Manager >Products > Stock
  2. Find the product to update the stock using filter.
  3. Click Edit
  4. Make Change
  5. Save

How to update large stock quantities

If there are subtantial changes to stock that you want to make it would probably make more sense to upload a CSV, instead of updating individually.

  1. Navigate to Remarkable Commerce >Products > Stock
  2. At the bottom of the page, click on Download Import CSV. Download Import CSV
  3. Make changes to the stock on the csv and save.
  4. Upload Changes via csv by dragging the saved file to the upload box. Upload CSV
  5. check some products to make sure they have updated correctly.

Deleting Stock

Stock can be deleted or decreased by following the directions for updating then selected delete or reducing the stock.

Stock Requests.

Where a company has physical stores, stock can be requested from the online store and these requests will appear here. They can be managed in the same way to internal messages.
