Search Rules
Configure search rules and API settings in Remarkable Commerce Manager, including weighting, toggles, and site-specific options.
Search Rules
Search rules allow you to fine-tune how search results are prioritised and displayed in Remarkable Commerce Manager.
Tip: Adjust search rules to give greater weight to matches in product title, facets, or description, depending on your site’s data and needs.
Weighting
You can alter the weighting for different match areas in search:
Match Area | What it means |
---|---|
Title | Prioritise matches in the product title |
Facet | Prioritise matches in product facets |
Description | Prioritise matches in the product description |
If the highest weighting is set for title, search will favour products where the search term matches the product title over description or facets. These settings are usually different per site, depending on how your product data is set up.
API Settings
These settings are mainly toggles, which can be switched on or off as needed:
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Show Autocomplete | Enable autocomplete suggestions |
Show "Did you mean" | Show spelling correction suggestions |
Show facet counts | Display the number of results per facet |
Use available date restriction | Only show products available by date |
Use stock total restriction | Only show products with stock available |
Images returned | Set the number of images returned |
Search on product code | Allow searching by product code |
Return all prices | Return all price options for products |
Return all adverts | Return all adverts in search results |
These are usually set up when the site is launched but can be altered at a later date.
