Scheduling Page Updates
Go to pages in the CMS Module.
Each CMS page has a start/end date, which you can view like this:
This is where to enter when the page should show,
To schedule a change to the current homepage, this is the process:
-
Go to the current homepage, click copy.
-
Make the changes to the new page and save, click save revision.
-
Go to the pages section, on the page you want to take down, click edit, edit the end date to when you want it to end and save. Leave it published.
-
Go to the page you want to schedule and make sure you save revision on the page, then click publish, then add the URL to publish to and add the start date to go live when the other page ends.
-
This will schedule the new homepage to go live to replace your existing homepage. As long as your latest revision is the one that is published this will be the one that goes live.
-
There will be two published pages in your list one that ends when the other one starts.
-
After the page has published and the schedule complete, you can edit and untick the published version on the old page.
-
This process can be replicated with multiple changes but it is more straightfoward to schedule one thing at once.
Scheduling an original homepage to replace a special offer one.
If you want to replace an offer homepage with one you were using pre offer, the process is slightly different.
-
Find the original homepage, this will still have the original url assigned to it.
-
On the page to be taken down, edit the end date for when you want it to end
-
On the page to be put back up, edit the start date in the edit tab to be the same as when the one above is set to end.
-
Go to build on this page and click publish and go live, this is now scheduled.
