Navigation Troubleshooting

After following the standard navigation guide, here are some common issues and common solutions.

I've made some changes, saved and published and my Navigation hasn't updated?​

Firstly give the navigation about an hour to update, the site navigation is usually cached to increase site speed, this refreshes every hour. Secondly if the navigation hasn't updated still, check whether the expiry date for the navigation is in the future, one of the most common issues is when the navigation is not updating, is that it has expired. To avoid this add about 20 years to the end date, it can be edited later, but avoids it accidentally expiring

I've made a new navigation and published it and it isn't working?​

If you make a new navigation and want that to be the live version, it needs to have the same name as the live navigation as the site calls that name. In this case Site Navigation. You can edit the name of the old navigations if you want to store them for future use.

Can the navigation be used on the international sites?​

The easiest thing to do is to click copy on the navigation, then you can change the site on the copy and it will be moved to that site, any ammendments to the international navigations can then be made. So there is a copy of the navigation of each international site.

The top links are styled by front end, and can't be overwritten in the editor.
